Before you do this make sure it not a harness or pin connection on pump problem...Make sure ECU harness is tight, fuses in fuse holders female end is not burnt or melted, and connection to pump are not broken. You can use a power trim relay but will tell you how after you test the above.

ok i checked everything you suggested and could not find anything wrong. it cranked right up and ran fine for about 15 minutes on muffs. the other day the fuel pump would not come on in the afternoon, but in the morning with me not doing anything to it it came on and cranked right up. seems like i have a grimlin under the hood. something else i didn't mention, the other day when it would not crank but finally did it ran terrible like i was cutting the key off and on. it did this 3 or 4 times getting back to the ramp. i'm about to pull my hair out.

This could be a failing pump or if charging system is overcharging it will overheat pump and cause it to shut down. need to get it to act up and then test that it has lost the ground out of ECU as pump red is hot all the time.

thank you. i'm gonna take it to the lake in a few days, if it messes up again what do i need to check on fuel pump and with what kind of meter. do i need to test the positive or ground on fuel pump wires. thank you again.

Just a meter.....when it refuses to run check power at terminals to fuel pump. Check it while cranking. A tempory test is take a jumper wire, attach to a ground on motor and touch to - terminal of pump...it will run all the time.

thank you. just did tempory test, jumper to ground on motor to -terminal of pump. let it run for about for about 45 seconds. does this mean pump is good.

Maybe but pump is cool..if you can find a less used launch ramp, just back boat half way into water and run it till it acts up then check for voltage.

thank you sir, i really thank you for all the help. i will take it out later in the week and run it like i usually do and try to make it act up and then test then.

ok it quit on me today. i did test light test like you said to do but it did not matter how i hooked up test light while cranking, the test light always stayed on. I then used jumper wire from ground on engine to -post on pump, pump came on and engine would crank and run fine until i took jumper wire off -post on pump. I did this 3 times to make sure. Does this sound like driver board in ecu is bad, if so what can i do with the trim relay. thank you sir

Only use a trim relay as they are sealed..
