different oil leaks coming from motor

Hi all this is my first post. I just bought a 1992 Sunbird with a Johnson 90HP outboard. I'm really new to outboards and noticed if I had the boat sitting for several days with the motor in the up position that there are little leaks coming from the engine compartment. I dont know if I should be worried about this or it may be normal for such an old outboard. I have attached a picture... Thanks in advance Ric

Hi, welcome Ric. Does it seem to be oil, gas, or both? If it is tilted up maybe the fuel vent at the tank is plugged and its building pressure and pushing fuel past the floats and out the carbs. You can test this by removing the fuel hose coupling at the motor and see if there is pressure. That's what it looks like from the picture anyway to me......mostly fuel, fuel/mix.

I had a similar problem with my 1990 90hp Johnson. As Timguy said, it could be fuel pressure building and forcing past floats. I had one of the new expandable tanks that doesn't have a vent. So when it gets warm, it can develop a lot of pressure, I started disconnecting my fuel line from the tank when not in use. Problem solved for me. Good luck, and I think you will find a LOT of useful info on this site.
