Difference in 70 HP model years.

I recently purchased a 70 HP VRO. There was no serial number attached. Based on the cowling decals it is either a 1987-88 or a 1989-90. The owner wasn't sure which year it was. Was there any difference in components for those model years? When I order parts I want to get it right.

Post a pic of powerhead....

Look for a core plug on the power head the size of a quarter. Post any #'s on it.

The 87/88 motors used different decals than the 89/90 motors. The 87/88 motors are also light blue whereas the 89/90 motors are dark blue. Put up pics of the motor with the powerhead include the head in the pic.
