Determining Honda BF225 Time From ECU

New to me 2006 Honda BF225. The tachometer hour meter is inoperable on my boat so I only have the time the former owner relayed to me from the prior reading. The tach does not currently display hours and is working intermittently so I am going to replace all of the gauges due to their age. My question is can I read true hours from the ECU on the engine? I found a OBDSTAR ISCAN that is compatible but wondering if anyone has experience with reading ECU hours or using the ISCAN with a Honda ECU? Reader is $250 so not too terribly expensive considering the motor is on good condition and I will be performing all of the maintenance.

Boat is a Robalo R227. I just swapped out the water pump, thermostats, bypass valves, plugs, fuel and oil filters, oil and lower oil. From what I can tell the motor looks like a 300 hour motor that had limited saltwater exposure. I have not yet run a compression test but motor runs well.

Did you ever get the reader to work on that Honda? I have a similar motor and I need to pull hours from the ECU.
I did, I purchased the Healtech OBD Professional Diagnostic Tool from them on Ebay. Works well, downloaded the software and checked the motor. No codes and it only had 174 hours on it. Cant tell if that is a 100% accurate motor but the tool will give you every reading including sensor status and pressures.
