I have a 250 HP 3.0 -1998 Mercury outboard, fuel injected with less than 400 hrs. run time. Good spark, fuel up to the injector unit but will not start.
I do get the engine to fire up but only for a few seconds at a time. Any ideas?

check for codes

If I remember correctly that ECU doesn't store codes...check fuel pressure since it trys to start

Thank you for the information. Can you tell me the purpose of the Schrader valve on the 3.0 efi engine?

Fuel pressure test port....should be 35psi or higher, if not you have: A) No fuel getting into VST tank(float) B) fuel pump issue C) bad pressure regulator
