Damaged Cylinder Head, Repairable or Replace?

I'm looking up all the lubes and sealant needed for this rebuild. is there a difference in OMC Gasket Sealing Compound and OMC Adhesive Sealant? I looked for alternatives and alot of people referred it back to aviation form-a gasket either from loctite or permatex. Do these two thing serve two different purposes?

I use the brown permatex with a brush on all gaskets except head gaskets and carb flange gaskets light coat both sides. Be careful around reeds and water circuits. I like to see a light bead squish out on all sides when you tighten the fasteners. You can normally start it righ away but if you let it sit for a bit the gasket will absorb the solvent and set up fairly fast. I stopped using a torque wrench on anything other than bearing caps, head bolts or flywheel nuts years ago. Especially on 1/4 20 bolts, if you break a bolt thats too tight:)

Thanks! I'm probably making this more complicated then it should be. Sometime trying to follow the service manual is more confusing.

There is a spot on the intake manifold to mount the pump ----No pulse hose needed.

From what i saw, I see that people keep their VRO pump, they just disconnect the electrical wires, ground wires, and they cut the oil line to the pump and plug it up with a screw and clamps. Looks to be a safe alternative. I'll probably do more digging on that, but that's way down the line from where I am currently. :)

Just a little update, powerhead is now assembled. Waiting for the carb kit to show up so i can finish putting it together. Here's to hoping I got everything on right. :)
