cowling

Hi. I am new here and need some help. I have a 150 Black Max Mercury. When I operate at high speed water gets into the engine and floods out the carbs. This is what the Merc. mechanic tells me. Has anyone else had this problem? What should I about it? This seems odd to me. Can anyone help?

Same problem. I checked the cowling and there are air vents on either side. I have a spare set of cowlings that do NOT have the air vents. Are the air vents needed?
