Hi guys, I have a 2006 BF225 that overheats at idle and below ~3k RPMs. I replaced thermostats with no change. I hooked up to hose and noticed water is coming from strange places. Also noticed at ~4.5k rpms at idle water pours from somewhere but, I cant tell exactly where. I have included some videos below and would love any all help or advice. thanks in advance!

Hi J D,
I've never worked on a 225 so just some speculation here.
Because a lot of the water seems to be leaking up higher on the outboard, I'm wondering if maybe a hose or seal for the exhaust manifold is split or damaged?

Hopefully others here will have more informed suggestions based on actual experience with this model.
Just thought I'd take a swing at it and let you know people are reading your post and wanting to help.

Good luck.

Thank you so much for your reply. After spending all day I finally figured out the problem. Turns out the shop I paid to replace the water pump impeller forgot to put the rubber grommet that goes on top of the impeller housing back on. Luckily I found one at a Honda dealer.

Oh! Well, now you know where NOT to take it for a TUNE UP! 😖

Thanks for updating and glad you figured it out.
