Control box assembly

The previous owner took everything apart and left things in pieces. Can anyone give me a diagram or detailed instructions on putting my control box back together and what cables are needed. The engine is a 40HP 1981 or 1982 model 7040522 the best I'm able to determine. The actual serial number is 676BL-412046.
The key is not integrated into the control box. It's only throttle and shifting. Thanks in advance!

Your engine is a 1981 Yamaha,painted in the Mariner colours.But that control box is for a Mercury cable,which,if I'm not greatly mistaken,will not fit at the engine end without adapters.
The cable has a barrel which fits into the recess just inside the box at the bottom and the end is attached to the throttle lever.And the same on the shift lever
The cam plate is fitted to the shift cable side and when the two are mated the roller on the throttle side is located in the track on the cam plate,marked G int the pic.
Here's a couple of pics of mine with the ignition key wiring in place.By the way that wee roller,marked E in the pic is what holds the tension on the cam plate.

Most likely has the 630 cables which has a Merc end at box and a 33C on engine end.......
