Connecting my 98 Fast Strike 115 to a gen1 lowrance hds 5

Anybody know how to connect the engine to a lowrance hds 5 unit? There is a screen that would give me the engine info if I could connect them. Do I need a special wiring kit to do this? Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

No, boat was bought used with units already on them. Found threads of people connecting them to yamahas and suzukis by googling but nothing comes up about Johnsons.

try calling lowrance,maybe they will send you an owners manual

Downloaded one and it doesn't give any instructions on how to install it. I'm gonna give nmea a call Monday morning and see if they can point me in the right direction. Everything I see online says they use a cable made by them plugged into the cpu of the engine, hoping my motor isint too old.
