Coil Insert Question

Just bought verified OEM replacement coil kits 832757A4 for my 1993 Mariner 9.9. The instructions say the ends of the thru-hole core must make grounding contact. However, the core insert is shorter than the height of the coil and therefore can move and potentially break ground contact where the thru-bolt / coil attaches to the engine block. The original OEM coil inserts were the same length as the coil body.

Has anyone experienced this design issue? Should I install the coil as-is, add a spacer to fill the gap and to keep the insert against the block, or? Mercury customer service understood the issue but did not have an answer. Any advice is appreciated.

Dang phone voice reply... So it should have been" The ferrite needs to be grounded". After you silicon it in place use 2 star washers on either end for contact.

Thank you. I didn't know what ferrite was until now. You would think these expensive OEM parts would be designed better.
