Carburetor hoses

Have Honda bf30hp I resintalled carbs. There are 2 black hoses that come out of bottom of carb set. I think vacume hoses. Why would I have fule coming out of one of these when priming fuel bulb?

Hi,

Which model (A or D) do you have?
And/or what year is it?
Could you post a picture or two?

I believe that the D model uses vacuum hoses for the atmospheric vents. See items.1, 2 ,3, 4, 22 and.23.

If the fuel is coming from hose #23, that could be because a float valve in one of the carbs is stuck and the float chamber is flooding.

Item 21 is supposed to be clear vinyl and I don't know but I think it's supposed to be a drain tube. If fuel is coming from there, then I would suspect that one of the float chamber drain screws either isn't firmly closed or is leaking for some reason.

Just guessing though as I haven't worked on one of these before.

Good luck and let us know what you find.

Try tapping on the float chambers one at a time while squeezing the primer to see if you can get it to stop draining.

It could just be a tiny piece of something got caught in one of the valve seats and that might shake it loose if you're lucky.

Thanks. I'll try that.
