Can someone identify my year of Merc 50hp from the pic?

It doesn't have the serial # band on the tilt rod like usual. Is there somewhere else it might be? I think it's a 1979, but would love to find the serial # because I need to order the front plate of the cowling. Thanks.

Yep have the same one it runs just needs carb rebuild, I’m upgrading to a 4 stroke so holler is u are looking for parts
