Bobs Jack Plate Install

I just recently picked up my first jack plate. Itll be going onto my 1982 Procraft 1750 fish and ski. The motor is the original Merc 150 Black Max. The jack plate is a Bobs Machine 6 inch Action series. I have no idea where to baseline the installed height of plate or plate to motor. Currently, cavitation plate is even with keel or bottom of boat. Anybody out there have any info on height? I appreciate the help. Thanks

Jackplates really don't add any performance value until you get into the low/ mid 60's and you're propped for it. A lot of work for 1-2 mph, if you just want it for shallow water, run the plate all the way down and hang the engine so the anti cavitaion plate is level with boat bottom as it currently is, then just use the plate for shallow water use.

Thanks for the reply. That boat with that engine can run 60...that's about 5400 rpm with the 22 pitch fury. The jack plate was really more for the skinny water, but that little bump on top would be cool to
