Greetings everyone - newbie here - can anyone tell me what year this outboard is? It's only been used a few hours - I can get it for 2500 is that a good deal? - It's extra long shaft electric start, with tiller handle - 9.9 hp.

Well....I can't tell you....but neither can anyone else until you supply them the FRAME SERIAL NUMBER.

The frame serial number is on or near the outboard's stern bracket. The stern bracket is the part of the outboard that hangs over the boat's transom and clamps to it.

The frame serial number will have this format:

Four letters then a dash followed by 7 numbers

Or, as an example

XXXX-1002678

Or here's a real number for a 2004 25 horsepower model:
BATJ-1000001

If you have the frame number you can ask a Honda dealer to look up the year for you.
