I bought a blue wave with a 2017 engine installed on boat in 2019. The motors only has like 40 plus hours.

1. Ran at idle as it should.
2. Launched boat and in limp mode
3. Removed VST and all filter were nasty just from bad gas
4. Replaced high pressure fuel pump with OEM pump
5 replaced all filters
6. Purged all fuel lines and new water separater on main line
7. Filter by low pressure pumped changed
8. Checked head and block thermostats and were in good shape and functioned properly but the head thermostat was in the block and vise versa. Now in right spot.
No visible corrosion in block or head thermostat holes

Now hers my issue: when the motor is running the lights by the key are 4. One red , one below it red then Green and another red.

That bottom red light stays on as well as the green as it should.

The symbol for that bottom light is missing. Is that for overheating.

I’m attaching a picture with just the key turned on and not running of the light. HELP

Hi,
No picture came through.

But, I Googled up a pdf owners manual for that outboard and it lists the warning lamps as:
ACG (charging)....red

Oil pressure....Green

Engine overheat....red

Engine malfunction.....red
(Which is different from the orange colored ones....so I guess they changed it at some point)

So my guess is that it's the malfunction light

That owners manual pdf was a free download offered from Honda.

You can also just choose to open it and take a look if you prefer.

Good luck.

I think you should check for any codes first....just to be fully informed if she still doesn't run right.

Good luck.

Trying to attach a the picture that didn’t attach with my post. I cleared the codes successfully but after starting and running it’s still on! Advice please! Oil sending unit maybe?
