BF90A prop only spins one direction when engine OFF .

I just got this engine, when shut off, in neutral, spinning by hand , prop spins clockwise and makes ticking noise. Will not spin in reverse. So it only spins by hand in one directions. Is this normal? I have been getting normal and not normal for answers. I don't want to start the engine and put it in reverse of this is not normal. Thanks

It should spin both directions if engine is really in neutral, probably needs a shifter adjustment?

Agree with NSDON.
It sounds as if the shift shaft adjustment is biased slightly too much toward a gear. But, I can't figure out in my head which way. I'm guessing forward but I'm probably wrong.

Just doing the "standard" shift shaft adjustment procedure will likely straighten things out.
