BF40 float adjustment

I've been cleaning my carbs on my 99 BF40 due to fuel overflow problems. I've basically replaced every jet and tube inside but most recently I replaced the float needles. I'm sure they're the right parts but when putting everything back together I noticed that the floats aren't level when sitting upside down. The floats lean forward at about a 30 degree angle. Is that normal or do I need to adjust them? There's not the typical screw adjustment option so I assume I'd need to bend the metal tab if I wanted to do so.

Easiest way is to adjust float height so that they lay parallel to the float bowl mating surface

Ok so that's what I'm used to, yeah... having the float be parallel to the casting below it, flat level but these are definitely leaning in pretty hard.
