BF225 Is this block salvageable or junk?

Short story; I acquired a BF225 with no known history. Turns out the engine spun a thrust bearing. Additionally the motor was partially frozen due to poor storage prep when it was taken out of service.

I'm trying to determine if the block is salvageable or if it's next stop is the smelter. Normally I would think a block in this condition is trash but i'm not familiar with the Honda motors to know if this damage is within tolerances.

Here are a few picture of the damage form the bearing failure.

I can't give you a definitive answer and have not disassembled one of these engines. However, on a normal car engine, a failed thrust bearing and a (partially) locked up crank shaft is normally a death sentence. The cost of the rebuild is not worth it.

If you are set on getting a Honda 225, then you could part out the failed one, sell the parts on eBay, and get enough money to buy a good used one. Parts that have high value if in good condition are the lower unit, heads, engine cover, lower cowling, tilt/trim unit, alternator, starter, ECU, both fuel pumps, intake air bypass assembly, fuel rail, and a bunch of others.
