Honda BF225 2006 with 1200 hours, serviced every 100 hrs...
When I go to start it, it fires up as it should but will shut down after 1-2 seconds...
If a use the warm up lever and keep it running at about 2000 rpm for about 10 seconds it will be fine.
The idle seems a little slower and slightly rougher than normal, but still hardly noticible. All the plugs look as they should.
She runs fine throughout the rest of the rev range... No codes or check engine lights...
What could be causing this problem??

Sounds like you might have an air leak somewhere between the LP filter and the fuel rail, or possibley a loose connection on the HP fuel pump wiring. First thing I would do is (1) drain the VST to get any water or junk out of there and make sure the VST drain set screw is tightened down properly, and (2) check electrical plug connections on both the LP fuel pump and HP fuel pump. Also check and clean the #2 fuse connection.

Thanks for those suggestions Chawk... Ill check all that when i can get to the boat in the next few days.
I was also thinking that it may be the air control valve that at the top near the throttle body.
Is there a way to properly test this item??

Don't know of a way to test an IAC Valve but it could be dirty not allowing the right amount of air flow needed for idle to your engine. Remove the IAC valve and check the screen for any air restriction.

hello,

2 things that u need to chek'

1) iav valve- open slowly the valve becerful not the roen the gasket and clean the net that u have ther with carburatur spray or air presure, the net are need to be silver.

2) h p pump , dont start the engone gust switch the key , u wil need to her the fuel runing in the back of the engine(if not 'tahe pump ar not good or the fuse is burned),replace the h p filter.

good luck.
