BF150 controls and wiring

Guys, you've been great to help me over the past few days; thank you. I have another question. My old motor was a 2000 BF130. The proposed new motor is a 08 150. Will my wiring and controls be ok or will I have to replace?
 
Yes, they will work. Depending on the age of the 130, you may have to change a connector or get an adapter for the small connector at the engine. The older 130's had a 14 pin round connector and a 3 pin rectangular connector. The new 130's had a 6 pin connector.

The 150 has a 14 pin round connector and a 6 pin rectangular connector.

If you have the older 130, it is not a deal breaker at all. This connector is for the two warning lights for charging and check engine.

The 3 pin to 6 pin adapter number is 32197-ZY6-002AH.

Thanks Hondadude. I may have a kink I just discovered. The proposed new engine was supposed to be a 150HP but the SN looks like its a 135 instead. The SN is BARJ-1200169. Does that look like a 150 to you?
 
... adding to my previous note. The motor has a tag on it that says BF150A but the SN on the lower section (BARJ-1200169) looks like its a 135 from the web sites I've seen, The "R" in the BARJ seems to indicate that from wha I can tell but I'm only going by what I can see on the web.

Thanks Hondadude. Here's the confusing part. I'm almost 100% sure the tag on the top part of the motor said BF150. But the SN is on the lower section. I know the 135/150 are the same motor (with little difference). If it says BF150 on top and BARJ-1200169 on the lower section, how do you know which?
 
I am attaching a diagram of where to find the engine serial number on the powerhead.

If the serial number begins with BEARJ, it is a 135 HP. If the serial number begins with BEANJ, it is a 150 HP.

If there is no serial number there, see what the part number is on the ECU. Then post the part number.

You can also see if there is a VTEC valve is on the starboard top side of the head. It is only on the 150 HP. See part # 8 https://www.boats.net/catalog/honda...in-banj-1200001-to-banj-1299999/cylinder-head
