BF130 new needle bearing for vertical shaft problem.

Hello all,

Ive installed a new needle bearing in my lower unit, its the one that is just above the pinion gear, the trouble is, I now cant get the vertical shaft to go back into the case.
The shaft seems to start to go into the new bearing but then gets stuck. I then have to remove the shaft by rotating and pulling it. Once its out, the rollers on the new bearing stick and I have to use a bearing remover to start to remove the bearing before the needles will free up.

Any ideas?

The new bearing fits perfect over the shaft when its not in the case.

Either the case is damaged or the bearing wasn't installed with the correct tool.

Many needle bearing can only be driven in from one side.------Only apply brute force to the numbered side>

There is a proper tool to pull this bearing in from the bottom, gently
