BF 9.9 Honda 2002 WON'T STAY RUNNING

My 2002 Honda BF9.9 will not stay running konks out after about 20 seconds at idle or revved up. I put a new fuel tank on, fuel line, primer bulb, fuel filter, and fuel pump and it STILL won't star running. I pulled the outlet fuel line off the fuel pump at idle and saw no gas being pumped, pulled the inlet fuel line and felt no vacuum from pump. Any thoughts?
 
It could be dirty carburetor but try these things...

Pull the thermostat out and run it without the thermostat. If it keeps running, then the thermostat is stuck closed or is clogged with debris. This can overheat the engine. When this engine overheats, there is an overheat sensor which turns off the spark and stops the motor.If it does stop, take the thermostat cover off and run it with it off for a little while....just to see if a good stream of water comes out. Then you will know how your water pump is and that there are no clogs in the water system up to the thermostat. Just because you have a telltale, it does not mean that the water is circulating through the engine....it only indicates that it is getting to the bottom of the powerhead.

Check all of the vent lines....like the crankcase vent going from the valve cover to the top of the intake on the carburetor.

May sure your tank is vented. To be sure, just remove the cap for a test.

Try squeezing the fuel bulb when it is starting to fail. If it picks up, then it could be fuel pump, leak or clogged hoses/fuel filter,

Try these things one by one

My money is on the thermostat. Just wild guess.

Mike, I checked the thermostat; pulled it out and it stills stalled. I pulled the thermostat cover off and have good pump pressure. I then pulled the fuel pump out of the engine and started it, it seemed to run better but still stalled. I'm still thinking vacuum leak but can't pin point it. I guess the last thing I have to change is the quit disconnect from the fuel line from tank to the motor.
 
If the fuel pump is out of the engine, it will stop. Nothing is pumping the fuel pump.

Did oil not come out of the fuel pump hole? Check the oil. Does the green light on the front of the engine come on while the motor is running? If not, it has a fuel pressure problem or the fuel pressure switch is bad...which will also stop the motor.

Wow! I sure messed up there. I think that was about the time last night that my granddaughter came in and told me she lost a tooth. I had to quickly contact the tooth-fairy to see what the protocol is for recovery and payment of said tooth.

Let me rewrite....

If that is the case, pull the oil pressure switch and make sure that the opening in not plugged in the engine. Then clean the oil pressure switch off with some brake clean or solvent. Then try again.
