BF 60 tilt / trim leaking down

My bf60 a trim/tilt leaks down while in the up position.

any ideas? TYI

There's an emergency release screw that's loosened to lower the engine down if necessary. Is that snugged up?

Try checking the fluid level. If it's low, you probably have an external leak and will need to find it.

If the unit is full of fluid then the valve body of the pump probably has an internal leak. Internal valve body leaks are typically caused by a bad oring and can be repaired if you have the Honda shop manual it has a pictorial tutorial for repairing the trim unit.

But taking the pump off and resealing the valve body is not much fun. A real pita!
