Autopilot trouble

Hi guys, Ihope someone here can help me. I have a 50' fishing boat with auto pilot. The pilot works fine when I set a course, However when I switch from pilot to comnav to let the computer take over, after about 30 secs I get an error message on the pilot. (nder).

I'm guessing it's not getting a readable signal from the computer. Check and clean all connections.

No Data Error is the "nd:Er" message. Like CHAWK suggested, a cable check would be a good start. Depending upon what your "computer" is, there's a lot of things to check on it, too. Bottom line is the auto pilot is telling you it is NOT receiving any Navigation input data so it won't do anything when you select the 'computer' source (NAV mode).
