"I have a strange problem. Just had the head and valves redone on my AQ125A. Put on a new timing belt and idler. Installed a pertonix kit.
Started it up after moving the distributer slightly and it seems to be purring like a kitten. Hooked up the timing light and it looks like the timing is way off. +60 degrees the timing mark is about 1 1/2 inches away from the timing marks in the plate.
I checked the Seloc manual and couldn't find any help.
I moved the distributer +1 tooth and that didn't work and tried moving it -1 tooth and that didn't work so I am now back to where I began.
All timing marks on the crank, cam, and dist. shaft lined up with the marks on the new timing belt. We double checked the mechanical timing alignment again and it is still off on the ignition timing But it runs?
Anybody have any idea's as to why?
Thanks
Joe"
