It's just a temporary thing then? You don't have to do anything, replace anything, etc after that happens?
Do you know where it shorts to? The black/white wire from the power pack to the points?
This is from memory-----When the motor is rotating in the correct direction, the loop on the spring bumps up against a plastic part (oiler wick??) and does nothing at all. But if the shaft tries to rotate backwards, the loop bumps against the wires connection and shorts them to ground.
Can't get any simpler.
I removed that per CDIs instructions when I put the new power pack in.Clipper circuit ??
If its a CDI/Repair brand its took a chit as their parts are now junk.
