Air Bleed orfice

On my outboard engine a Presumably 1985ish johnson 120 according to a guess by a tech because we cant find a model number. On the carburetor part number 395038 there is an intermediate air bleed orfice but right below them according to the manual another air bleed orfice is suppose to be there but these are plugged with phillips head screws. is there any logic to this ?... but I do believe some hack just modified this for some odd reason as I have found alot of modifcations so far. (I just purchased this boat a couple months ago) Does anyone have a part number or size for this orfice?

Thank you I appreciate that. I'm assuming now that this outboard is a 120 and not 115 by this diagram. Been trying to figure out exactly what i have for awhile. I can't believe someone plugged the #14 idle air on all the carbs

Looking closer the idle air bleeds were on the 140hp models and quite possibly plugged for the 120hp? Racer would probably know for sure.

Yea I see what you are saying, I pull up one diagram and it says 140 model only and another diagram shows it has one. Maybe racer will take a peak soon

#14 idle air and #43 intermediate it is a 1985
Its a 1988 as thats is first year they went to "butterfly pack and 120 and 140 use both jets. Idle is a 14 and intermediate s a 50 or 54 depending on hp. Plugged intermediates is a old racer trick to improve holeshot but runs a tad rich at 3500rpm, I used to plug em by driving in a toothpick and breakin it off.

Thanks for the info.. I'm hoping adding these helps it idle better. Right now i cant keep it running. Ive went through the carbs and cleaned everything manually and soaked them, set the floats and its still rough idle and cutting off. I pulled the plugs and all of them are wet and black. (new plugs) I got 90 non ethanol fuel with pennzoil marine 2 cycle oil all fresh. good compression on all cylinders

I was wrong on year as looking thru pic's and seen it has Fasttrac trim which will make it a least a 1991.The jets should have a number stamped on them and maybe #34or #37's.Put the screws in the upper holes and jets in lower and see what it does as idle is lower hole, should cure your wet plug condition.

I guess I can try the 1991 set up of 27 intermediate and 34 idle. The only set up I see with 43 intermediate has 14 idle is on an 85. I'm thinkin this motor has possibly been in alot of hands. What would you suggest Fazt
