Hi all, I have a 5.7l merc, just been rebuilt by a mechanic and was running well apart from a hard start. That got worse, and then failed to start. It has a two injector set up, with a Mefi 1 ECM. One injector was firing fuel, the other wasn't. Swapped wires and problem transferred.
The ECM was suspected, went away and the report came back "The IC and Bypass lines for the distributor did not work, nor the fuel pump relay. I reflashed the ecm with another Merc 50TBI cal and the IC and Bypass lines started working, but still no fuel pump.". Fuel pump is bypassed and not an issue, fuel is reaching the throttle body. Now when the ECM was put back on, neither injector is firing. Mechanic back tomorrow with test leads, but is there something we should be looking at?
