Adding temp and water pressure gauge bf40a 2006 40 hp

I want to add a temp gauge and water pressure gauge to my 2006 40hp motor. My instalation makes it hard to see the teltale and i don't trust the idiot light. Is there someplace to install the sensors without removing the current temp sensor.

Search for a post by Chawk_man. Temperature gauge for 225. He came up with a non standard way to measure the temperature of his motor. There is no "standard" way. You may be able to apply it to the 40A.

I have never tried to put a water pressure gauge on a 40. I can not see a "published...standard" method. Maybe someone else may know of one. For lack of anything else, you could "T" off the telltale hose.

So everyone knows, I got my idea from Bob's original post in April '09. I modified it by using a heat transfer epoxy to glue the sensor directly to the exhaust manifold. My original attempt failed because I didn't match the resistence of the heat sensor to the gauges I had.

Thanks all, never thought of a cylinder head temp gauge, solves the problem and easier than trying to get into the water jacket. Any opinions on replacing the telltale with a pressure sensor? Does it really need to spit water out or is that really just an indication of pressure.
