I have a 98 Johnson two stroke 115 with compression of 93, 93, 93, 80. The motor did overheat causing the damage on the low cylinder. The water jackets have been cleaned and new head gasket replaced. Will this motor run with these compression readings?

Model # is ??---That is often asked !---Fact is , compression testers are not all the same.---Starter motors / batteries are not all the same.-----What damage did you see on the lower cylinder ?----I would say the motor needs attention !

That is a crossflow motor and the 98 was last production year..----They are somewhat famous for broken piston rings.----So what damage did you see as per post # 1.-----Why did the overheat warning horn not go off ?----Was oil injection in service and checked out ?
