Yes. I used a big rubber mallet on the housing and then a hammer and punch on the stud and nut (partially threaded on) and no luck. Could it be a rusty stuck drive shaft? ThanksIs the paint scraped off on the shift rod? Are the keeper and nut removed? May have to use a little pressure to remove it.
Gotcha. Previous owner said it ran fine the one and only day he took it out. He said he paid a boat repair shop to make sure it was running good. I guess I'm just a sucker. Should have done a compression test before I bought it at least. We'll see what happens. ThanksPossible the motor overheated.----Post results of a compression test before spending any coins on this motor.
130 top cylinder, 132 psi on the bottom. I got a little to aggressive with the big rubber mallet yesterday and cracked it a bit. Hard spot to get a good straight whack at it. We'll try a little heat and persuasion next.Gotcha. Previous owner said it ran fine the one and only day he took it out. He said he paid a boat repair shop to make sure it was running good.
