95 Merc 40 HP Warning horn continuous beep with key on?

Put a new switch in exactly to diagram and getting a continuous beep with key on. Boat had been sitting for years and I don't know much about it. Buddy had it wired wrong. He had the choke on full time with the key on. That's why the top 2 plugs were so clean:) 1995 Tracker. Ser OG223587. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure about before. Probably not or he would have said something. Then again it had been sitting for sometime. He changed carbs and other things because it wouldn't run. I took them off and resealed them. That was when I found the choke staying on with the key on. I was wondering if it could be a low oil horn/ sensor? It does have plenty of oil.
 
Check my switch wiring. I got the diagram from Marine engine. All purple wires to I, Yellow/red to S, yellow/blk to C, blk/yellow to M, red to B and last M to ground. Is this correct?
 
Could be a bad low oil warning module or temperature sensor. Disconnect them individually from where they are connected to the same terminal block to see if you can isolate. If either of the sensors are faulty and grounding out, you will get continuous tone.
 
Got started this morning, hooked up the battery and no horn. Put the switch in the dash, tied some wires up that were hanging down, checked again to make sure it was in neutral, turned the key and the horn started going off. They took a lot of things loose when they put new carpet in. Maybe I have a short under the dash? I don't know. You know how it is when people try fixing things themselves. Now there is no fire to the plugs.
