I am replacing the upper mount on my engine with a solid one. Is it necessary to change the lowers at the same time. It is the venom model with the stiffer mounts, and the lowers seem to be just about solid aluminum.... It is a high hp, high speed boat. Any advice will be appreciated. If so anyone have any solid lowers for sale? Thanks!

It's a new dual cable nfb rack, same side, I know, not ideal, I replaced the tilt tube bushings and steering pivot bushings, which were worn. steering link arm. and I'm doing the mounts. And will try it again next week. Motor is an evolution built 285ish.HP. I had it going through 90@6500,8000 limiter, though I' looking for 7200, with a 30p cleaver..... problem is b4 I changed the parts, when i lift and bow comes down boat makes a hard left, then right and back and forth until about 40.. 10" setback, top of prop shaft even w/pad....It is an empty hydrostream valero YT. I'm hoping tightening everything up will help! Plus some seat time... I put in more counter weight to ensure boat is balanced... ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS WILL BE APPRECIATED!

I was mistaken it is a chopper, or as Ron Hill calls it a "clopper", round ears with straight trailing edges. Any comments on the handling issue? boat3.jpgboat2.jpgboat4.jpgboat1.jpg

Nice ride! I run a 225 on a pad vee bottom, dual r & p steering on the same side with a 6" CMC hyd jackplate. I have the factory mounts, and run about 82 gps speed. If I was gonna change mounts, I'd do all 3, but mine is a stable ride. Feel free to ask me any questions, this is not really a site for performance guys.

BTW, I really hate NFB steering. I've had it lock up on two of my rides, you try to turn and it won't. I found I had to give the wheel a jerk in the opposite direction of what I wanted, then it would let me turn where I wanted to go.

Your choice of prop will make a huge difference too. With a 30 ET, I had to hang on with both hands. A 28 Renegade let me drive with one hand. Only lost about 3 mph.

From the pictures the motor appears it needs to be raised about a 1". Coned lowers have a tendency of dragging the rear end down if ran to deep with positive trim. That hull is a semi-tunnel and it don't start packing air for lift till around 70MPH

Thanks guys. I have all the new parts installed, and the motor has a lot less slop. I hope that will help my deceleration issue! Yeah the nfb does feel funny, I had a Renegade 23p reworked to a 24p, Loved it on a little Sprint bass boat w/150, one of my past boats. Thanks for your comments Bill...... And Thanks faztbullet, I was contemplating up or down, but I'll start by going up.... being light it starts to fly around 65.
