The engine has been running well. This morning, it wouldn't start. I checked fuel and battery. They were good, so I pulled a plug and it had no spark. I proceeded to check the rest. I got spark on two on the port side and one on the left. Neither bottom plugs had spark. I had a similar problem last year, so I replaced the power pack. Problem solved. After less than a year, I am guessing this power pack has failed. Two days ago the motor ran well. Without buying another one, is there a way to check? I also checked the coils in different positions, so I am reasonably sure it isn't the coils or the wires. Thanks for your help

Do you have a peak reading voltmeter and know how to use it?
What is your cranking RPM?
My son does. what should the proper voltage be?the My tach is not working, though it is turning over at what seems normal speed.. I removed the power pack, checked all wires, cleaned the grounds on the coils, and rechecked for spark. I had 5, so I managed to start the engine, and found I was getting spark on all six. I took a ride, and it ran fairly clean. My 25' Wellcraft coastal is actually pretty light. I clocked it at 35mph. I don't trust it,but for inside the bay, considering my good running 15hp kicker, I guess it'll do.for the time being. Thanks for the response.
