90hp flywheel bolts

I have a 2001 90hp johnson, need to remove the flywheel manual says to not to re-use the 5 flywheel bolts. My question is do you have put new bolts in or can I re-use the old ones ?

I know it says to replace the flywheel bolts, but do you "really" need to ? If I do have to replace them, can I just go to the hardware store and just use grade 8 bolts or do I have to use OMC bolts ?

The factory bolts are like a grade3 and are very easy to twist in half. Yes you need new bolts and they need the shoulder on them. If you can find some at a bolt/nut supply go for it but better to use OEM bolts

Dang, I must have screwed up because I have always reused them.

faztbullet, thanks for the reply. I thought thats what someone would say, just wanted to make sure it was necessary to replace the bolts. I have some OEM ones coming, thanks.
