90hp 4 stroke 2005-2008 interchangeablity

So I a 2008 90hp 4 stroke with possible spun rod bearing.
I have access to 2005 shortblock of the same outboard.
But the 2008 is a timing chain with pass through the case and the 2005 is a timing belt
with no pass through the case.

from what I could find on mercury website the part numbers vary for the crank and the rods.

I want to take the rods, pistons & bearings from donor 2005 and install them into 2008.

I have tried to find a mercury spe******t that I could speak with but no joy.

I know time is money and would compensate by ordering my part through them.

So any advise/recommendations/suggestions?

If part numbers are different then they are not compatible

Why don't you just rebuild the one you have ?
