9.9 water pump

My 9.9 has a weak water stream. I just had the water passages cleaned & a new water pump kit installed. It still has a weak stream. I tried it trolling and it did ok & the motor did not seem to get hot, but the stream was less than 1/2 what it was when the motor was new. Any Thoughts??

disconnect the pisser tube from the fitting at the engine.
with a deep socket,remove the brass fitting.
drill out the fitting approx 1-2 mm oversize.
reassemble and hopefully with more flow, you will get fewer
particle restrictions.

The first thing I always look at if someone else has had the side covers off is to make sure that the piss hose is routed correctly and is not pinched between the oil case tray and cover. Besides the mod that dark_star suggests, I've also increased the opening in those little plastic nozzles that the other end of the hose attaches to. The hose itself could be the problem, even if it's routed correctly. As they get hard and crusty inside they tend to trap small particles in the bends. I routinely put fresh hoses on the ones I work on. If you take the hose off and it holds it's routed shape, replace it.
One other consideration is that the impeller vanes could have been installed backwards. It happens.
