88 3 liitre cobra outdrive jerks

Newbie here when in gear at full or half throttle the boat jerks like it is missing a tooth or something. Is there an easy fix adjustment or is this major problems coming

Unknown, need more information. What year, and what are the circumstances? Is it an engine hiccup? If it is only happening intermittantly it is probably not the drive portion but the engine. A hiccup can be from faulty ignition parts or from something in the fuel system. When was the last engine service and what was done? did it run well before the last servicing? When did this start happening? Was it after a fill up of new gas?
