84 Merc 50 hp gaskets

I had to pull head to replace side cover gaskets, I’ve got new ones, should I use the Indian head shellac to help seal it, or just use gaskets with nothing

Did you replace bottom crankshaft bearing and the 2 oil seals ?----Good time to do that now.

Actually I have them ready to go just was wondering about sealant.

If gaskets are grey paper use aviation sealer, if dark green and shiny use nothing
