78 Johnson SELL or PART OUT?

Looking for a little advise from other technicians that have been around awhile. Have a 78 35hp Johnson that has a blown head gasket everything else ok. Question should I put the money into a head gasket thermostat and clean the carb and sell complete running engine. Or after seeing the price on some of the major parts i could sell should I part out. Has anyone any suggestions??
