300 xs torque master lower unit

I have a 300 xs just wondering if anyone has switched out a torque master 19 spline prop shaft with just a standard 15 spline prop shaft? Are they interchangeable? What's the difference just prop shaft splines? You think it would hold up with just a standard? Can get a standard lower unit for 4k cheaper that's a chunk of change.

A 2L,2.4L,2,5L lower will not bolt up to a 3L

Sorry I was talking about a standard one for a 3 L pro xs

Doubt it will hold up under torque...there was a reason Merc designed it that way for a 300
