Hello everyone! I just recently bought my first boat, a 2007 Bowrider! It is really in need of work, which I knew when I bought it but I am ready to learn. So currently the outboard is not attached, and the inboard will start and run for 2-3 seconds before dying. The seats need to be replaced, and the gel coat (above the water line) will need work. But first things first... I need to get the inboard working! So face I have replaced all the spark plugs, replaced the fuel filter, checked all the hoses to verify patency, and I now have the carb torn appart on my kitchen table. The carb did seem to be factory sealed to the engine so apparently it has been a long time coming for this boat, and dont even get me started on the condition of the fuel filter and spark plugs! That being said while the carb was nasty, when i played with the level to seemed to spit out fuel each time... I should be able to get the cab put back together in the next few days, but assuming that doesnt fix it, what would ya'll suggest I do next? I have checked for a anti-siphon, but in am not entirely convinced that it has one, as far as i could tell the fuel hose went straight into the fuel tank without one. I have also checked the oil pressure sender and it is plugged in, however i have no idea how to test if it needs to be replaced.
Any ideas, concerns or critisisms is more tahn welcomed! I have a lot to learn!
