2nd switch box to go

Hi guys, I'm at my wits end with this motor. About to give up at this point.

I've had nothing but issues trying to get this thing to run properly.

It's a 60hp 3cyl. I bought a used switch box 2 months back and the boat ran like a champ for 2 days, exactly like the previous time, after second day exactly the same symptoms.. No power and makes this hun nun nun sound.

I've posted dva readings and videos. .

Just not sure anymore, done just about everything I can think of.. Switched coils, new plugs, compression fine, reeds good, fitted new lower crank seals, carbs jetted stock and seem fine.

Idles fine but has a miss that keeps popping up all over the place..

Sounds like you need to try a different stator.

ok will do. Im going to perform a voltage test while i increase throttle speed to see if there is a sharp drop from the stator (red) just before the miss. Will have to make some extended wires so i can do this on a calm day in the ocean.

I have had some weird issues - with a stator previously working fine, then just being dead. Same thing with the boat when I got it, swinging for 4 hours no spark (kill switch up), then suddenly spark.

Could a shorting plug wire or something draw all the spark from a motor?

Sounds like you need to try a different stator.

since the boat ran fine for 2 days then back down is it safe to assume the stator has blown the (2nd) switchbox? is it voltage peaks / spikes or what?

The only thing the stator can damage on a ADI system is the capacitor and the rectifier both are internally in switchbox or the charging rectifier. If internal rectifier goes you lose high speed side of stator input, if capacitor blows it dont do chit. If its losing a cylinder/s on pack could be bad coil inducting kickback voltage damaging diode for SCR on that cylinder or bias circuit bad.
