After running for awhile the engine loses power and will eventually quit. It turns over fine and will even fire, will not stay running. It first happened a couple weeks ago, but I waited awhile and I put some stabul fuel additive in it and then it started back up and ran fine. Yesterday I put stabul in it after I fueled up and after a while on the lake it did the same thing - ran fine then lost power and then eventually quit. Had to be towed in tis time. seems like a fuel problem or venting problem. It may also be the engine guardian system shutting it down, but I did not hear any beeps/alarms going off. I do have the single beep/alarm when first starting in neutral. I changed the oil, oil filter, fuel filter, and lower unit oil about 1 month ago. I could go out to the boat right now and it would probably start right up and run fine. It is almost like it is getting to a certain temp. and then this happens, maybe over heating (oil level is fine). But two weeks ago after it did it; it ran fine for the rest of the day. Any thoughts?

I just came back from the boat> I have it at a storage facility (no water). I went ahead and change the plugs since I had them. Oil level fine, pulled the fuel filter out and gas looked good and blew it out (no trash), oil was not frothy (no water) and could not smell gas in oil. The motor did start right up. One thing I did notice was I had the normal short beep/alarm to indicate okay to start, but then I had a long solid beep/alarm for about 5 seconds, but motor did start up. I also pulled the emergency stop clip off, I was still able to start the motor with the clip not connected and the motor ran without the clip connected. You should not be able to start the motor with the clip not connected and the motor should shut off when disconnected. Could this possibly be the problem?

Guardian mode idles boat back to 1500 rpm, sometimes 3000 rpm. If it's shutting down completely, i would not say it's guardian mode.
