This motor has approximately 100+ hrs and the 100 hr maintenance was preformed without any problems about 3-4 months ago. Two trips ago, the motor began increasing RPMs at full throttle and losing drive. RPMs increased to 7000+ while speed dropped to about 15mph. Decreasing throttle to about 50% and RMPs down to 5000 the speed finally increased back to 22mph and I was able to “limp” home. I thought the prop was spun and replaced the prop hub and prop (new boat owner hits ground sometime). Thinking it’s fixed, took her out again and fine at first then the same, but it would take 10-15 minutes to get up to speed with the throttle at 75%, the RPMs at 6500 and top speed at 25mph. I’m a new boat owner and I’m used to preforming my own work, but I’m at a loss. Any help would be appreciated.
