2017 honda 115 hp trim not working

I can't get the trim to work. It was working intermittently and then stopped in down position. Now I need to take pontoon out of the water.

Any help please. I contacted Honda and they were no help, telling me to go to a dealer, but a friend said there is a way to get the motor up for trailering.

I asked them for the location of the relay or solenoid but they said bring to a dealer.

Does anyone have a picture of where these things are located??

thank you in advance.

Hi,
Sorry you're having difficulties.

You may need to tilt the outboard manually if the trim isn't working electrically.

Take a look at item 23 in the parts catalog depiction. "Valve, manual".....in the link below.

It is basically a screw that you simply loosen and that will allow you to manually tilt up the outboard. You just need to loosen 1/4 to 1/2 turn with an appropriate tool, tilt up, then re-tighten to keep the outboard tilted.

You should NOT tow any distance though without first further securing the outboard with a mechanical means to keep it up if you don't have good ground clearance with it down. Relying solely on the trim unit or tilt up locks on the outboard to keep it up while towing could result in serious damage.

This information is also in the owner's manual.

Good luck.
