I've been "off the road" for a while with IAC issues and serviced the engine and water pump (total hours 240 ) before going back on the water ( all sea water).
!st trip out we had an overheating issue and since then I have;
checked and replaced the pressure relief valve ( and cover as it was seized and needed semtex to remove)
checked the thermostat - all good.
Run a bench test with engine in a bin - overheating and very slight dribble from ee hole.
Put a water hose into the block port and she pees beautifully and maintains a low temperature.
So on dismantling the bottom end i found
1. the bush on the top of the water pump cash was split and torn badly, which was a surprise, bit good to find something amiss.
2. bottom end of one of the impeller fins torn off and in the cup.
So my question is whether the problem is likely to be the torn bush and I just need to replace that and press on or is it a symptom of something else?
Any thoughts?
thanks
