2007 Honda 150

Hi,
I have a 2007 Honda 150. When I turn the key on, engine not running, I get alarm (about 1 second on, one second off). On my digital tach the MIL (triangle) flashes above the temp icon and the MIL (triangle) above the check engine is on (key on, engine not running). I get the same alarm and MILs when the engine is running.
The alarm goes away after I run/warm up the engine for about 5 minutes (alarm beeping for the entire 5 minutes), then turn off engine and restart (alarm goes away).
I used a paperclip to shunt the lime green/white to black wire, and from the check engine (MIL) I get 2 slow blinks and 5 fast blinks (code 25?). What is code 25? I searched the site and could not find the code list for the 150.
When I pull the 4th fuse (15 amp, 4th from the right), the alarm stops.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil,

I don't know but I do have a fault code list that forum member chawk_man posted a link to some time back. Problem is it's on my phone as a pdf file and I'm not clever enough to figure out how to share it here.

It's for the 175 and 200 hp outboards but I think it might apply to yours too. You might be able to do a search of chawk_man's posts and find the link.

At any rate, it lists code 25 as being related to the engine temperature sensor or wiring or connections. You may want to locate the sensor and try some "wiggle testing" on the wires and connectors to see if something changes.

Hopefully someone that knows more will reply soon with better info.

Good luck.

Code 25 was the ECT #3. The sensor looked good, however when I attempted to test the sensory by measuring the resistance...one of the male terminals fell off at the slightest touch/corroded.

Alright then! Glad you found it. Hopefully the sensor isn't too difficult to get to and replace.
