My 2006 225 has 450 hours and runs smooth normally. Today at WOT the temp warning light and buzzer came on. Once I backed off the throttle, the buzzer and light went off. No problems coming home. Didn't seem to be over heating since it went out so fast and didn't come back on when throttled back up. One note, I wasn't up on plain yet. Thoughts?

I've had a couple of units that have experienced the same condition. What I found was a 72c thermostate in a unit designed for a 50c and a 60c. The unit would overheat only on initial take off and would run great once it had warmed. This situtation only exisited during the winter months when the water was cold. Now I've had many cases of restricted outlet water flow, and overheating, caused by corrisson of the mount case onto the main outlet hose's at the bottom of the exhaust manifold's. Thanks Martin

It's been about a year and it gets a strong stream. I did also notice that the flush port had come loose from the cowling and was interfering with the stream. I guess it may have caused some back pressure, but wouldn't think much.
